Andrew Butterly

"Having gained an honours degree at the London School of Economics I worked for 19 years as a Probation Officer.

In the mid 1990’s I embarked on a woodworking course. I followed this up by completing a City and Guilds Furniture and Cabinet-making course at City of Bristol College. I completed a third year Advanced cabinet-making City and Guilds with distinctions in 2006.

introduction

The service I provide

"I specialise in tables, bookshelves and cabinets using sustainable English, European and North American hardwood timber and veneers. In accordance with my ethical principals all timber is FSC certified. I try to minimize the use of man-made boards.
I produce high quality furniture by commission and have sold furniture at the prestigious Celebration of Craftsmanship exhibition at Cheltenham.

My contemporary designs are often geometric with clean lines to emphasise the contrasting materials whether it be solid timber, veneer, glass or steel. My work is produced to exacting standards with attention to detail being something I will not compromise on. The challenge of combining sound construction techniques with exciting and inspiring designs is what I strive to achieve for my clients."
